China Tours Without Compulsory Shopping Stops
As a China based tour operator, ChinaTourDMC arranges ground services for overseas travel agencies, tour operators, schools, companies and other organizations. Unless a visit has been specifically requested and confirmed, our programs do not include compulsory shopping stops, commission-based retail visits or commercial presentations presented as sightseeing.
The itinerary agreed with our partner is the operating plan for the group. Scheduled touring time is used for the confirmed attractions, activities, meals, transfers and other included services.
What Is Excluded Under This Policy?
We do not automatically add jade shops, silk outlets, tea shops, traditional medicine centres, pearl stores, souvenir outlets or similar retail businesses to a tour.
Guides, drivers and local suppliers must not introduce an additional commercial stop without operational approval and the partner’s prior agreement. Travelers will not be required to:
- Enter a retail outlet as a condition of joining the tour
- Attend a product or sales presentation
- Make a purchase
- Join an optional commercial activity that was not confirmed
- Give up a scheduled attraction in order to visit a shop
How Do We Treat Cultural Workshops and Production Visits?
A craft workshop, tea experience, local market, production site or cultural demonstration can have genuine educational or professional value. When such a visit is relevant to the group, it will be identified in the proposed itinerary so the overseas partner can review its purpose and timing before confirmation.
A commercial visit will not be described as a cultural attraction without a clear explanation of its retail element.
Can Travelers Shop During Free Time?
Yes. Travelers may visit shops or markets during their personal free time. When asked, a guide may provide directions or practical assistance. Voluntary shopping does not form part of the contracted itinerary and will not replace confirmed sightseeing unless the partner or group leader requests a change.
Purchases, warranties, delivery arrangements, tax matters and after-sales issues remain between the traveler and the seller.
Can a Partner Request a Commercial or Sourcing Visit?
Yes. Some groups have a genuine interest in wholesale markets, factories, specialist products, handicrafts or business sourcing. Our team can arrange an appropriate visit when it is requested in advance. Its purpose, duration and effect on the itinerary will be explained before confirmation.
What Should a Group Do if an Unapproved Stop Occurs?
The tour leader or overseas partner should contact our operating team as soon as possible. We will check the circumstances with the guide and supplier and take appropriate operational action.
This policy applies to services arranged and directly controlled by ChinaTourDMC. Independently booked activities and personal purchases made outside the confirmed program are not part of our operational responsibility.
