Peking Duck
Students arrive at Beijing Capital International Airport and are greeted by our guide outside baggage claim. After luggage assistance and immigration, the group will check into the hotel and have time to refresh.
The rest of the day is free for personal exploration or relaxation. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Peking duck dinner.
After dinner, an orientation session will provide details about the upcoming itinerary and allow students to ask questions. This first day introduces them to Beijing, combining culture, food, and useful trip information.
Temple of Heaven
The day starts with a visit to Tiananmen Square, the world’s largest public square, where students will learn its historical importance. They’ll then explore the Forbidden City, the former imperial palace. Students will engage in interactive activities to learn about its history and architecture.
Next, students will take a rickshaw ride through Beijing’s Hutongs, experiencing local life and customs. Lunch will be served at a local family's home, offering a taste of authentic Chinese food and culture.
After lunch, students will visit the Temple of Heaven, a masterpiece of Ming architecture. They’ll learn about its role in ancient Chinese rituals for good harvests.
Kung Fu Show (Optional)
For those interested, enjoy a Kung Fu show in the evening, showcasing traditional martial arts.
Mutianyu Great Wall
After breakfast, take a scenic 2-hour bus ride to the Mutianyu Great Wall. Enjoy 2.5 hours to explore, with options for a cable car ride up and a fun toboggan ride down, all while soaking in stunning mountain views.
Next, head to the Summer Palace, a UNESCO site. Walk along the longest corridor in China, admire beautiful artwork, and relax by Kunming Lake, experiencing the grandeur of China's imperial history.
Photo Stop: Olympic Stadium
On the way back, stop for photos at the iconic Bird's Nest, the National Stadium from the 2008 Olympics, a perfect spot for a memorable picture.
Night View of City Wall
In the morning, students check out of the Beijing hotel and board a high-speed train to Xian. The 4.5-hour journey offers a chance to view China’s changing landscapes, from cities to countryside.
Upon arrival in Xian, a local guide will greet the group and transfer them to the hotel for a quick rest, if time permits.
The first stop is the City Wall, where students can cycle along the top to view both the historic and modern parts of the city. This fun activity offers a personal experience of ancient Chinese engineering.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional dumpling banquet followed by the Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show, a lively performance showcasing China’s cultural heritage.
Terracotta Warriors
The day starts with a visit to the Terracotta Warriors, one of China’s top archaeological sites. Before touring the museum, students will take part in a workshop to create their own mini terracotta warrior, learning about the ancient craftsmanship. After exploring the Terracotta Army Museum and its three pits filled with life-sized warriors, the group will return to Xi'an in the early afternoon.
Back in the city, students will attend a Chinese calligraphy class to learn how to write Chinese characters, gaining insight into the art of Chinese writing.
Next, the group will visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda at the Daci’en Temple, a key example of Tang Dynasty architecture with strong Buddhist connections. The tour will then move on to Great Tang Everbright City, showcasing the grandeur of Tang Dynasty architecture and culture.
To end the day, students will experience dressing up in traditional Hanfu attire and makeup, immersing themselves in Tang Dynasty fashion and beauty.

Upon arrival in Chengdu, the group will visit People's Park. Students can observe local life, watch people practice tai chi, play mahjong, or sip tea in the park's teahouses. Next, explore Jinli Ancient Street, a lively area with traditional buildings, local snacks, and unique shops. It’s a great place to experience Chengdu’s history and culture.
In the evening, enjoy a traditional Sichuan dinner, hotpot, famous for its spicy flavors. Afterward, attend the Mask-Changing Show of Sichuan Opera. This performance, with stunning costumes and rapid mask changes, offers a fascinating look at Sichuan’s cultural traditions.
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding
The day starts with a visit to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where students can observe over 150 pandas in a naturalistic setting. They will learn about panda behavior, diet, and conservation efforts. The visit also includes the Giant Panda Museum, showcasing panda evolution, and a chance to see other species like red pandas.
After lunch, explore Wenshu Temple, one of Chengdu’s best-preserved Buddhist temples, offering a glimpse into Chinese Buddhist culture.
In the afternoon, take a Sichuan cooking class. Students will learn to make traditional Sichuan dishes, famous for their bold flavors and spices, providing an interactive way to experience local cuisine.
Shanghai Museum
The group will fly from Chengdu to Shanghai in the morning, starting their exploration of the city. Upon arrival, they'll visit the Shanghai Museum, famous for its collection of Chinese art, including bronzes, ceramics, and calligraphy. Admission is free, but reservations are required.
Afterward, students will take a walk along the Bund, enjoying the view of colonial-era buildings and the modern skyline across the Huangpu River. It's a perfect spot for photos.
In the evening, the group will enjoy a traditional Shanghai dim sum dinner, known for its variety and delicious flavors.
Yu Garden
Begin the day with a visit to Yu Garden, a beautiful classical Chinese garden known for its landscaping and history. Afterward, explore the Shanghai Urban Planning Center to learn about the city’s growth and future.
Next, head to Pudong to visit the Shanghai World Financial Center (SWFC), which stands at 492 meters (1,614 feet). It boasts one of the world’s fastest elevators, reaching the 100th-floor observation deck in just 66 seconds. From there, enjoy panoramic views of the city. Later, explore Tianzifang, a lively arts district with shops, cafes, and galleries.

Zhujiajiao Water Town
Today, students will visit Zhujiajiao Water Town, about 50 kilometers from Shanghai. Known as the "Venice of Shanghai," it has over 1,700 years of history with canals, ancient bridges, and traditional buildings.
Zhujiajiao is home to 36 stone bridges and over 10,000 buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. After the visit, return to Shanghai for free time to relax, pack, or shop.
